Day 2 post-operatively, Mr Thompson had been hoping to discharge home. Unfortunately he is experiencing overwhelming nausea and is vomiting greenish fluid. The Surgical Registrar has reviewed him and diagnosed him to have a “Paralytic Ileus”. Mr Thompson now needs a naso gastric tube inserted and to fast ( nil orally). Using support from the literature, please identify and justify how to care for Mr Thompson now his condition has deteriorated and he has a naso gatric tube insitu
