IV Medication Instructions 

Refer to your MARS 

Calculate the amount to be administered for one dose (in mL) AND in total for a 24 hour period (in both mL and mg).  Please show all of your work in the blank space that is provided below.

1st IV Medication

Physician’s order reads:  Ancf  1 g  every  8 hours IV

Dose available:   1 g /5 mL  vial of Ancf

Instructions state:  add 5 mL of sterile water to yield/give/produce Ancf 1 g/5

Physician’s order reads:  Ceftrixne  500 mg  once per day IV

Dose available:   500 mg/5 mL vial of Cefrixne

4th IV Medication

Physician’s order reads:  Ancf 750 mg every 8 hours IV

Dose available:   334 mg/1 mL vial of Ancf

Instructions state:  add 2.5 mL of sterile water to yield/give/produce Ancf  334 mg/1 mL 

How many mL will be added to the mini-bag for one dose?
