 As a student nurse, it is important to begin recognizing patients that you may find more challenging to care for than others. For example, caring for a hospice patient who is on morphine may present a challenge to me as a Christian nurse knowing that morphine depresses respiration and eventually he/she will die.    In all situations, it is important to model the Christ-like love of patients to our colleagues but in this case, I feel like I will be aiding his /her death.

Purpose: Identity a patient group that you may find challenging to care for. Examine why this type of patient may present a personal challenge for you to care for them. To model Christ-like love of patients to your interprofessional colleagues, determine realistic strategies to implement Christ-focused care for the challenging patient group(s) without compromising your Christian worldview within your nursing practice.
