1. A patient is ordered to receive 750mg IM STAT.  The pharmacy sends up a powder form of the medication that must be reconstituted. The directions for reconstitution are: “Add 3.5ml of NS to yield 100mg/ml.  How many ml do you need to administer to give the correct dose? Round to the nearest tenth.

 

2. A patient is to receive 1250 milliliters of 5% D/W in 15 hours IV.  The flow rate is 6 drops per minute.  Five hours later, 900 milliliters remain in the IV bag. Recalculate the flow rate.  The drop factor is 9gtts/ml.  [______gtts/mn].   Round to the nearest whole number if required.
