Situation #1
Elizabet moved to the Midwest at the age of 26 from her native Iceland, where she ate seafood for dinner almost every night. She ate fruits and vegetables every day, but the variety was limited. In her new home, she complains that it is difficult to find good seafood that is as fresh as at home, it tastes different and is more expensive. She also misses the dark brown and black breads she’s used to, she’s willing to try American breads, but she’s not sure which variety she’s good at. American fast food is well known to her, but she doesn’t want to rely on it to satisfy her need for her familiar meals. She wants to eat food that is healthy, tasty and affordable.
She makes a care plan where she evidences the cultural factor; following the steps of the nursing process.
