Eponyms are proper names honouring the discoverer of a condition, procedure, test, instrument or anatomical feature (e.g. Parkinson’s disease).  They have enriched medical terminology but this trend may be decreasing.  They are used frequently but should not be used where there is a medical term.There are some problems using eponyms.   The name may be used to describe more than one entity, leading to confusion amongst health workers. Examples of Eponyms may be :
