Mr Jim Franklin is a 71-year-old male, who is preparing to return home from hospital following a Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA). He has spent the past two weeks in the John Flynn rehabilitation unit, on the Gold Coast. Although Jim did not experience any long-term dysphagia or dysphasia, he does have some mild to moderate weakness in his left leg. His previous medical history includes, atrial fibrillation, osteoarthritis and he has had previous bilateral knee replacements. He currently takes regular Panadol osteo, aspirin, frusemide and amlodipine. You are part of the discharge team and when assessing Jim and reviewing his case, you find that for Jim to safely mobilise independently he requires the support of a wheelie walker.
