Ultrasound LOCATION: Inpatient, Hospital PATIENT: Melody Blithe ATTENDING PHYSICIAN: Andy Martinez, MD RADIOLOGIST: Morton Monson, MD EXAMINATION: Limited OB ultrasound. CLINICAL SYMPTOMS: Heavy bleeding; pain; third trimester, approximately 32 weeks. LIMITED OB ULTRASOUND: This is a limited evaluation to evaluate the placenta. The placenta is noted to be anterior. There is a focal hypoechoic area seen along the inferior margin of the placenta. This measures approximately 1.6 × 1.2 × 1.5 cm. This is at the edge of the placenta, which appears to be separating from the uterine wall, consistent with an area of abruption. Fetal presentation is cephalic. No placenta previa is seen. Fetal cardiac activity is 148 beats per minute. Dr. Martinez was present for the examination and was aware of the findings.
