I think it is important for people to have privacy so that they are not ostracized from their community. Privacy allows for people to do things at their own pace and not be pressured into making decisions based on some other outside factor. For example, if someone is gay they do not have to tell everyone until they are ready. There is no name tag above them with the word gay on it. I do not think there should be a limit on what is to be considered private. What I would call private could be different from other people, so it would be on a base-to-base application. The government was put into place to serve the people not the other way around. So yes I think the government should have to demonstrate why it thinks interfering with my privacy is something it should be doing. I see no reason why the government thinks they can understand me when I have different experiences than they might have. 1.
