You are a personal care worker employed

You are a personal care worker employed in the residential aged care services department. You are running a bit late to your schedule as you cut your hand on a broken glass bottle that someone had placed in the general garbage bin. You have been to the nurse and she has placed a waterproof dressing on the wound. The nurse advises you to change the dressing if it gets loose, wet or soiled. You are about to visit Rita and help her with her daily care routine. Rita has lived at the establishment for six months and needs minimal care. She is in general good health but is unable to live on her own as she is becoming quite frail and forgetful. She gets around quite well using a mobility walker to walk from her room to the dining room. When you see her this morning she tells you she ‘had an accident in the night’ and didn’t make it to the toilet in time. There is urine on the bathroom floor. She has tried to clean it up by using her bathroom towels but seems to have made the matter worse. There are several soiled towels the bathroom sink and a soiled nightgown draped across her shower chair. You help Rita with her morning shower and dressing and then take her to reception to wait for the residents’ bus which will take her to the local shops. There are three (3) parts to this task. You need to: a. Explain how infections may be spread (mode of transmission) in Rita’s bathroom b. Outline what surfaces will need to be cleaned c. Explain the process you will follow to clean Could I please have assistance with this scenario, thankyou
