For this discussion, imagine that you are in a leadership position. Two new employees have been hired to work as receptionists in your office—and they seem to not be getting along. Alora is a middle-aged woman who was born in the Dominican Republic, and Allan is a younger white American man. Consider how you would respond to the following situation in your discussion posts. A huge stack of papers is waiting to be filed. Allan asks Alora why she has not filed them yet. She replies that she likes to wait until the end of the day to do the filing. Allan says “I’m not sure how they do it where you’re from, but here, we do them as they come in so they don’t get piled up.” Alora becomes angry… “Just because I’m a woman doesn’t mean I have to do all the filing. Men can file too.” Allen states “I file all the time. I do all the work!” and storms away.
