Often, for many jobs, a physical is required in order to start working. The physical is done by the company to see if you can do the basics of the job and be able to perform adequately. We have seen how important a physical is for a jobs like firefighters and policemen. How about for nursing? I once had a employee where a physical was necessary and the potential employee did not pass the physical. The case went to court citing violations of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (Dessler, 2020). What do you think? Should employees who are unable to pass the physical still be able to work? Should the case be dismissed or should a job be offered to the potential employee? Why or why not? PLEASE KINDLY PROVIDE REFERENCES USED FOR THIS.
