It took me back to the time I was in England at a fancy lounge on a date with a handsome man. As I checked in and stepped into the elevator I felt a feeling of anxiousness, it was surely the anticipation of getting into my room and not to just get into bed and falling asleep because of my long flight. But to be able to open the doors to my balcony and to embrace the view. I walked into my room; it had a slight scent of sweet peaches. I think that was from the air freshener in the bathroom, but it had a nice touch to it. As I walked six steps to the balcony, grabbed onto the gold door handles and opened those two doors. The breeze from outside hit my face but in such a subtle way. I saw the beautiful beige and white buildings, the greenery and red flowers and their pots on the side of the street. Couples walking down holding hands, an older woman walking down with her grocery bag and drinking her coffee. In that moment I felt at peace, that there was more to this world than I had imagined. The next morning, I woke up at 6 a.m. just to travel to one of the best cafés. I took an uber as it would have been an hour walk. As I got into the uber the man said “bonjour mademoiselle” as he had a big smile on his face. I smiled back and said, “bonjour sir”. He began to play some slow, mellow jazz music and starting quietly humming. Before you knew it, I was in front of La Maison d’Isabelle. I could see the pastries through the glass windows on display, from cheese quiches to the meaty sandwiches, fruit jams and cheeses. I thought to myself how lovely it would be to make a charcuterie board with a glass of red wine back at the hotel. I was very tempted to try everything, but I came here for one thing only, which was to try a croissant. This place was known to have the best so it was only right I would experience one. I ordered the croissant and my mouth started to salivate. I could smell the freshness of the flaky dough. I couldn’t even wait to get to my seat as the man handed the croissant over with a white paper bag. In two seconds, I took the biggest bite as it was steaming of heat. I could have burnt my mouth but as tasted the buttery pastry, it had slightly just melted in my mouth, and it was well worth it. Instead of calling a taxi after I was done, I decided to catch bus twenty-one to take me to my next destination. It was a twenty-eight-minute bus ride, but I wanted to grasp more of the culture, and the only way I could do that is to use my senses and see what was out there. At one of the stops, I seen these two gorgeous women who could have been models, wearing Louis Vuitton, Chanel, and Dior head to toe. I knew Paris as one of the world’s fashion capitals but to capture that in person was a divine moment as I love fashion myself. I finally got to Palais- Royal. Jules Hardouin-Mansart was the architect who had built it in 1639. This palace became the home of kings and queens until the late 18th century. But today it serves as the seat of Ministry of Culture which is closed to the public so I could not go inside. From the looks of it outside and standing at the southern part of the complex I saw the black and white striped columns and the big white pillars that was following the entrance. I felt a sense of being around royalty knowing the history behind the building. As I was exploring the area, taking pictures, and getting bites to eat. I didn’t even realize the time going by. I knew it was getting late as I looked up at the sun setting, I had the urgency to go to my last destination. This was initially something I wanted to do for my last day in Paris but being here made me feel that I should just go for what I want. I called an uber as I didn’t think I could wait for a bus anymore at this time. I got in and was super excited, my right leg moving back and forth against my left as I was sitting. This tends to happen when I can’t wait. As soon as the car stopped I opened the door and ran out. If you were there you could see the lights in the reflection of my eyes as I walked towards the Eiffel Tower. Being there gave off a romantic feeling as if I was home on a Sunday night watching romantic films. I saw people around me so engaged with this monument. When people think about Paris most of the time, they imagine the Eiffel Tower. It just felt so unreal to me as I gazed filled with overjoy. In that moment I felt that nothing could even compare than experiencing Paris, France. SCIENCE HEALTH SCIENCE NURSING NURS 24998
