Reply to these two discussions with your opinion 1- Our generation uses social media extensively, and technology has taken over the world. No matter where you live, each post you make could instantly be seen by millions of people. Instagram, Facebook, SnapChat, Twitter, YouTube, and TikTok are all used by majority of the people in the world. Since you can learn so much about a person through the internet, many organizations and businesses conduct checks on their potential employees during the interview process on these platforms to ensure that the person they are recruiting has a decent background. Your nursing school practice and your practice as a nurse could both be impacted by all of these platforms. You risk losing your license if you make just one error or accidental post. Everyone should take confidentiality seriously because not only do our patients not deserve to have their information made public, but it is also against the law to post confidential information. We must use social media sites responsibly since we represent nurses and the profession, so we must refrain from posting or talking about things that are not appropriate. For the delivery of safe, effective patient care, it is crucial to understand the fundamentals of delegation. In their National Guidelines for Nursing Delegation published in 2019, the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) and the American Nurses Association (ANA) emphasized the significance of delegation skills. Understanding what an assistive staff member is capable of doing is crucial when delegating tasks to them. The rights of delegation—Right task, Right circumstance, Right person, Right supervision, Right direction, and communication—that we were taught throughout our time in nursing school should be understood and practiced. 2-I couldn’t agree with you more about how much technology and social media has taken over. It is interesting how much one post or comment can affect not only perspective jobs, current job status, but most importantly a person’s life in general. It has become second nature for people to use social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, TikTok, along with the many others out there to communicate and advertise. However, it is easy for posts and/or comments to be inappropriate, unappealing, or even uncalled for – which can lead to problems in many different ways. Many organizations not only research potential candidates for their open positions through social media, but some may also even require their newly hired employees to attach a disclaimer on all social media pages that the person has to ensure that the organization is not liable for posts that the employee makes. Understanding the correct and appropriate ways to delegate tasks is not only crucial, but vital in the way nurses and assistive personnel can provide the best care possible. Student nurses are taught and provided information to utilize the knowledge and skills for future care given to patients. But it is also important for the student nurses to learn how to best manage their time, which requires the understanding and knowledge of delegation. Great post Sarah!! I loved reading the about your input of how social media has impacted everyone, how dependent people have become to social media as well as your posting of the specific Rights of Delegation SCIENCE HEALTH SCIENCE NURSING NUR 2456
