Instructions – Group Project – Book Presentation Due: Please refer to the Instructional Plan for due dates (It is a good idea to submit ahead of time to avoid any last-minute issues) Weight: Group Presentation: 20% of final grade including: ï‚· Professor assessment of presentation (see rubric) ï‚· Group presentation work plan (see rubric) Submission: Submit your PowerPoint presentation to the Group Presentation drobox in eConestoga. File format: Ensure your file is saved as “firstname1_firstname2_firstname3_firstname4_Group Presentation”. Please ensure that all of your group members’ full names and student numbers are on the first slide of the presentation. Instructions: ï‚· Please work with the assigned groups of students ï‚· It is expected that students will follow the same commitments made for the team contract related to the PDSA project – all students should strive to be an active, participative and dependable team member. ï‚· Each group will select a current book (from the last 5 to 7 years) on effective leadership practices/approaches or health care systems operations. ï‚· You must have your book approved by your professor to ensure no other group has selected the book. ï‚· You can consult with a school or public librarian to help you or talk with your professor. ï‚· Each member of the group will read the book. The readings can be divided among group members. While you are encouraged to read the whole book, this is not a requirement. The group can divide up the readings into chapters/ sections of the book. 1Health Care Operations Management – OPER8090 ï‚· The group will develop a 45 to 55 minute presentation. o Provide an overview of key concepts from the chosen book. o Relate two (2) concepts from the course textbook to the chosen book. These concepts can come from any of the following: ï‚§ Planning (Chapters 1,2,3,4,6 &7), ï‚§ Performance (Chapters 9 & 10) ï‚§ Process (Chapters 10 &15) ï‚§ People (Chapter 16, 17, 18) o Discuss a key concept from the chosen book that falls into one of the four domains studied in the course – Planning, Performance, People, or Processes – and identify how the ideas in the book might influence the application of the concept in the workplace. o The presentation can contain one video up to 6 minutes in total. o Presentation must contain an exercise/class activity that engages the audience, based on the content presented, and helps to further their understanding. o The presentation must contain a reflection from the group on the value, benefits, and advantages of the theories or practices covered in your textbook. o APA @ Conestoga must be used for writing and citation. o You should not have more than 50 slides in total, including reference slides. o If a direct quote is used from the book in a slide, the reference must be provided at the bottom of the slide. ï‚· All members of the group must present during the presentation. ï‚· Attendance is required at all presentation classes. ï‚· Review the rubric. It should guide you in terms of how much effort goes into each part of the presentation Presentation Grading: ï‚· All members of a group will receive the same grade.
