A.A. is a 20 year old Hispanic woman works in a local restaurant part time and does not have any health insurance. She presents to your office for a women’s health annual examination. She has never had a woman’s health examination in the past and appears anxious. Her medical history is unremarkable. She has never had surgery. She does not drink or use illicit drugs, but has been smoking about a pack of cigarettes a week since high school. She lives at home with her parents and older brother. Last menstrual period was this past month. G0 P0. Never had a pelvic exam or a PAP/HPV test. Her PHQ-9 score on intake was 8 – mild depression. Denies having STIs and reports that she has never had sexual relations with a male or female partner. States that her last immunizations were given when she was in high school, however, she has had both COVID vaccines. No vaccine boosters to date. She does not know which immunizations she had in the past. A.A. has not received healthcare in 2 years due to the lack of insurance.
