Case Review Lee’s anxiety and sadness stem
Case Review Lee’s anxiety and sadness stem from genetic predisposition and environmental factors. Lee’s mother left him when he was five, and he was left to cope with his father’s demands and his, night terrors and social isolation. This probably had a significant influence on his mental health. Lee’s uneasiness in social settings deteriorated with time, and he started self-medicating with drugs and alcohol. After Lee tried suicide, his despair reached a crucial stage. An antidepressant had been recommended at this time, but he had stubbornly refused to take it, stopping before the SSRI reached therapeutic effectiveness. So instead, he took his father’s advice and opted to “just go on.” Unfortunately, this choice has not improved Lee’s anxiety and sadness. 1. Patient’s drug therapy/needs? 2.
