PATIENT: Megan Thatcher PHYSICIAN: George Orbitz, M.D. RADIOLOGIST: Morton Monson, M.D. EXAMINATION OF: Kidneys CLINICAL SYMPTOMS: Cyst via ultrasound MRI KIDNEYS: TECHNIQUE: Imaging through the kidneys using standard protocol which includes pre and post gadolinium images, as well as delayed imaging. FINDINGS: There are ovoid low signal filling defects seen within the renal pelvis which correspond to an area on the recent ultrasound and which are low signal on all sequences and are thus felt to be due to stones. In the left renal upper pole region, there is an ovoid, approximately 2 cm focus which is of low signal on the T1-weighted images and high signal on the T2-weighted images and does not appear to enhance on the post-gadolinium images. This is consistent with a simple cyst. There is an ovoid cystic focus which is exophytic extending posterolaterally from the left renal interpole region which is of low signal on the T1-weighted images and high signal on the T2-weighted images and also does not demonstrate enhancement. This focus measures approximately 1 x 2 cm and is consistent with a simple cyst. In the right upper pole anteromedially, there is an ovoid subcentimeter focus which demonstrates signal characteristics of the SCIENCE HEALTH SCIENCE NURSING HIM 1451
