I am in Chamberlain School of Nursing. My current course is NR 565 and I am on week two’s assignment called: NR565 Week 2: State Specific Guidelines for Prescribing Controlled Substances & Medical Devices. The I am not sure of what it is exactly asking is: Are there specific requirements for advanced practice nurses to reference the state’s prescription drug monitoring database before prescribing a controlled substance? The state I live in is New Hampshire. This is a yes or no . Of course, we have a prescription drug monitoring database but it is outsourced by this program called Bamboo Health which is a platform for providers to enter their information etc on.
