J.L. is a 70-yr old man with
J.L. is a 70-yr old man with a history of a stroke three years ago who lives at the long-term care facility. He has right-sided hemiplegia with little voluntary movement on that side. In the last 24 hours, J.L. has experienced frequent liquid stools. Upon entering the room at the beginning of the shift, the nurse notices a strong fecal odor. J.L. has had decreased appetite in the last week, eating only small amounts of each meal.
