Reply to this post giving an importance of training healthcare workers about telehealth I have been making progress on my signature assignment and the research topic that is connected to healthcare informatics and nursing because of the prior assignments. My study on the final presentation subject for healthcare informatics and nursing led me to come to certain findings, which I outlined and recorded in the previous module. This essay will be used to elaborate on one of the findings I’ve drawn on the preparation of nurses for the use of healthcare informatics in their working environment. Training programs for the technology are required for both newly graduated nurses and currently practicing nurses. First and foremost, healthcare informatics is an inter-professional activity that blends nursing practice with information to make effective use of biological data and knowledge that is crucial to improving abilities such as problem-solving and decision-making. Training in healthcare informatics can help nurses adapt to new environments, which is important because the field encourages attempts to improve general human health. According to Zadvinskis et al. (2018), attitudes of the nurses looked to be more balanced in the seven topics of the integration 18 months after the healthcare informatics deployment. Developing a comprehensive training program is essential for not just one reason but also many others. The following training topics are of interest in the implementation of healthcare informatics, and they are as follows: overall nurses’ interaction with informatics, performance and task accomplishment using technology, interdisciplinary teamwork, human-computer interface, information technology policies, leadership skills, and best practices or ethical issues relating to data privacy and protection. The following table outlines some of the results that will determine how the training programs for both current nurses and staff and new hires will need to be established. The ability to assess data pertaining to patient care and make use of the findings in order to achieve better results is one. utilizing informatics to monitor the efficacy of patient care programs, doing research, and developing new technologies for their healthcare institution, and so on and so forth. Training in the testing and utilization of new technologies should be required of nurses and most other healthcare staff. In addition to this, they should keep a close eye on the outcomes of implementing the new technology and should be able to manage facility-wide initiatives or hospitals depending on the training they get. Significant advancements in patient safety have not yet been accomplished (Fenton et al., 2019), and this is the reason why the training programs are developed and disseminated to new staff as well as producing the programs on an ongoing basis. The training will continue after the system is implemented, and after implementing a healthcare informatics system to reduce the likelihood of mistakes and improve response times to those that do occur, all of the staff members who use the system should regularly offer feedback on their experiences. As a result of these post-implementation feedbacks, training can be adapted to meet the needs of the group of employees who have not yet fully mastered their portion of the system. For instance, if it is the employees in the billing department who are trained on how to easily find insurance information and billing codes from the implemented system, then the training can be tailored to suit those employees’ needs. To keep up with the fast developments that have occurred in healthcare IT and informatics, training curricula have been modified. Training is necessary in order to build upon the knowledge of contributors who are actively involved in the day-to-day practice, education, and research of informatics (et al., 2019). As the healthcare sector continues to become increasingly dependent on technology, hospitals and other healthcare institutions should strongly consider broadening the scope of their in-service training programs to include the majority of their staff members who interface with informatics. To take full advantage of the potential benefits offered by health informatics, workers in the healthcare industry need to undergo preservice education as well as in-service training. This will enable them to access relevant data and feel comfortable with the straightforward application of the data. For healthcare institutions to achieve excellent results for their patients, it is essential that they allocate some of their budget to investing in information technology.
