Guidelines Conduct a thorough search for qualitative literature. Identify the 3 most relevant articles in your search that provide insights into the chosen scenario. Among these 3 articles, at least one must include the perspective of the individual’s family or caregivers (e.g. they include family members or caregivers as participants). The articles must be primary qualitative research articles, where researchers directly collect and analyse qualitative data to explore and understand individuals’ experiences, perspectives, and meanings related to a particular phenomenon or research question. Common methods employed in this type of research include interviews, focus groups, observations, and analysis of textual or visual data. Refer to the lecture about Quantitative Research for more information. For this assessment, please do NOT use scoping review articles or analysis of open-ended survey questions, even though some authors may refer to these methods as qualitative studies. However, you can include mixed-methods studies that combine quantitative and qualitative methods, but your focus should be solely on the findings of the qualitative part. Remember to save the full-text of the 3 articles (in PDF or Word Document). You will need to submit them together. Scenario 2: Isabella You are working in an infectious disease clinic where you meet Isabella, a 27-year-old transgender woman who migrated from Columbia to Australia two years ago. Isabella used to be a sex worker and was diagnosed with HIV one year after arriving in Australia. She is currently on antiretroviral therapy (ART), with her viral load being undetectable. She now works as a freelance artist, allowing her a flexible schedule to manage her health. Isabella lives with her cisgender male partner, who is HIV-negative, and they have been navigating the challenges of a serodiscordant relationship. Isabella is open about her status with close friends and family but fears stigma and discrimination in her professional life, especially in her new country. She often feels isolated and struggles with the psychological impact of living with HIV and adapting to a new culture. Moreover, her freelance art job does not provide enough income to cover her living expenses in Sydney due to the high cost of living. She is considering returning to sex work to support herself financially. To better understand Isabella’s illness experience, you decided to review the relevant literature. Additionally, you plan to ask Isabella five questions to gain deeper insights into her situation and assist in assessing and planning her care. Structure: Introduction Part A: Search Strategies: Outline how you searched the literature using the PICO framework. including the keywords you used. Explain why you chose these three papers over others that might have come up in your search. Discuss possible limitations of your search strategies, including what aspects of the scenario you might have missed. Part B: Critical Appraisal of the Papers Part C: Recommendations PS: Remember to reference the full-text of the 3 articles. They should be Australian research.
