Provided in the tables on the following are three types
The Theory-Guided Practice: Cannot use Watson as theory. Need one from the Smith text to apply. Describe a middle-range nursing theory and discuss its application to the identified practice experience. Evaluate the selected theory for substantive foundation, structural integrity, and functional adequacy. Furthermore, discuss the implications of the selected theory on nursing practice within the Christian worldview. Practice Story: Describe an actual patient experience in which you were involved as a professional. It is important to clearly define “what mattered most to this patient”. As a story, it should have a beginning, middle, and end. Discuss nursing considerations, including discussion of clinical presentation and treatment response, socio-cultural implications, impact of health systems and policies, family dynamics, spiritual considerations, and anything else pertinent to the story and what was important to the patient. Section in narrative format, focusing on pertinent information. Tell the patient story with enough detail to paint an accurate picture of the most important aspects and what will be important as it is applied to the case in later sections of the paper. Conclude with a summary of case analysis, including how the “story” ended. Tell the story interestingly and clearly. This should not read like a history or a physical. Middle-Range Nursing Theory: Description of the middle-range nursing theory. The chosen theory must be one specifically addressed in Smith & Liehr (2018). Describe the theory’s purpose, development, philosophy, and major concepts. Evaluation of Selected Theory: Discuss the strengths and weakness of the theory, including benefits and barriers to utilizing the theory in practice. Discuss selected theory through a Biblical worldview. Is the theory congruent with a Biblical worldview? Include Biblical references. Implications to Nursing Practice: Apply the selected theory and Biblical worldview to the practice story. Describe specifics of how care could be guided through a Biblical, theoretical lens. Discuss if using a theoretical framework and/or Biblical worldview may have changed the story’s outcome or end. Paper should be at least 8. Use at least 8 scholarly references. Use headings to separate sections of your paper. This is a formal paper, and first person should not be used. It’s important to have correct grammar, spelling, and paragraph formation. Use at least 8 scholarly references. Cannot use Watson as theory. Need one from the Smith text to apply.
