Your current staff training material includes an outdated video that does not address PTSD or gender identity-related problems. You have decided to develop a new video that incorporates these two topics, as well as highlights more theory-based and evidence-based approaches to mental health concerns. The presentation will address addiction issues, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and gender identity-related concerns. The last slide will be a list of resources for staff to use in providing callers with relevant additional resources. You will develop a script document from which to read to ensure the information is presented clearly and succinctly. Instructions Design a PowerPoint presentation with voiceover to be used in training new staff at the Northwest Mental Health Hotline. The presentation should include the following: Title slide. An overview of the topics to be addressed. Introductory information as to the seriousness of each of the three concerns. Explanation of positive and challenging aspects of 12-step and non-12 step models of addiction and recovery and how they can be used in hotline conversation. Include at least one citation for each model. Explanation of how to incorporate evidence-based approaches when discussing PTSD with callers. Include at least two citations. Discussion of psychotherapies and pharmacotherapies often used in the treatment of PTSD to ensure staff is aware of both. Discussion of at least two different gender identity theories and how they can be used in relevant mental health conversations. References slide for resources cited. A list of additional relevant resources for staff to provide to callers. Include at least two resources for each mental health concern addressed in the presentation. 15-20 slides.
