Part 1- The Pharmacology Describe the pathophysiology of this condition
A train/bus crash has occurred causing significant damage. There are multiple victims; nursing personnel have been called in to triage victims for emergency services. As the community/public health nurse, you will separate a triage of the victims of this accident, beginning with the first victim you find. There are 20 victims to be found and assessed. Keep in mind that Red is considered a top priority to be seen immediately, as those victims have life-threatening conditions that can be stabilized and have a high probability of survival. Yellow is for those victims with systemic but not life-threatening complications, but can wait 45-60 minutes to be seen. Green is for the “walking wounded” or victims with minor injuries that can wait for several hours. Black is for the deceased or those with injuries that are so extensive that nothing can be done to save them.
