A 28-year-old patient with a history of asthma since childhood

Being in the healthcare industry for the past 25 years, I have worked with many different people. I was raised in a home with my grandparents, parents and my siblings. So, I saw at an early age the multigenerational affects. In healthcare a lot of people are working past the retirement age. One of my closet and favorite colleagues is going on 80 years old. She is still light on her feet and can still lift patients and do everything that her job requires, Then I have worked with younger individuals who act as if they cannot do what their job entails. According to Boatman 2024, “Combining multiple perspectives and diverse skills drives creative solutions to problems. Life experience influences how we relate to and interact with others to address challenges and conflict. As a result, teams with age diversity can offer a variety of ways to address problems.” Working with people of all ages, you learn so much from each age group. I do not think we can say just because someone is of age, that communication can become an issue. Thats hypothetical. I believe as long as everyone treats every individual with respect, there should not be any issue regardless of age.
