Nursing Notes: Four-week-old Hispanic male born at 35 weeks gestation. He was in the neonatal intensive care unit at birth, intubated, and ventilated for two weeks. Came to the neonatal step-down unit with oxygen via nasal cannula, now on room air. Is getting oral-gastric feedings of pumped breastmilk, to advance to bottle feedings in one to two days, then will be able to breastfeed. Signs of gastroesophageal reflux include irritability and vomiting after bolus feedings, so breast and bottle feedings are on hold. He is currently being worked up for gastroesophageal reflux (GER). He continues to have episodes of apnea and bradycardia (A/Bs).
