She should answer any questions asked and engage in discussion but with minimal effort. Joanne is to advise that she doesn’t have any family or any friends. She falls into relationships for the convenience of having somewhere to stay but always seems to make bad choices when it comes to men. Joanne says she is clean and determined to stay away from alcohol and drugs. She wants to find a job, stable housing and to sort out her issues. Joanne feels she is a good worker and is not afraid of hard work. She thinks she’d be good in a retail job or something to do with animals. When asked about needs and priorities: She knows she needs to sort out her housing and her health but doesn’t know where to start. She is to say she is sick of her life and feels scared for her safety. She’s tired of that feeling. She is to say she really wants to sort out her teeth as they cause her pain and make her feel like drinking again just to numb the pain. When discussing how her issues relate to each other: She started drinking and taking drugs after her parents threw her out. She was scared of her mum’s violent mood swings and used to avoid going home. This made her mum very angry. She is to worry that she also has some of her mum’s mental health issues as she suffers from pretty wild mood swings herself. She thinks her teeth are bad because she couldn’t look after them properly when homeless. When discussing strengths: ● She feels she is a good worker and is not afraid of hard work. ● She thinks she’d be good in a retail job or something to do with animals.
