Preoperative Diagnosis: Tear of the right medial meniscus Postoperative Diagnosis: Same Operation: Meniscus repair The patient was brought to the OR and anesthetized. An inflatable tourniquet was placed about the proximal thigh, and the operative area was prepared and draped in a sterile fashion with the leg placed in the instrument maker leg holder. Following this, incisions were made for insertion of the arthroscope inflow cannula and probe. Video arthroscopy was then carried out. He was found to have a tear of the posterior horn of the medial meniscus, and this was repaired. The anterior cruciate ligament was examined and found to be intact. The lateral meniscus also appeared to be intact. The patellofemoral joint was within normal limits. While the patient was asleep, the knee was examined and stressed. There was no opening of the medial collateral ligament region and no instability in that area. After completion of the arthroscopy, the instruments were withdrawn from the wound and the incisions closed. The incisions were injected marginally with local anesthetic for postoperative analgesia. After closure of the incisions, Betadine ointment and dressings were placed over the knee, and the patient was returned to the recovery room in stable cpt code with modifier
