Question Answered Asked by 121195a Ghrelin is a hormone that’s often called the hunger hormone because it stimulates appetite and increases food intake when the stomach is empty. Gherline is produced in the stomach, but it can also be released by the small intestine, pancreas, and brain. When released gherline signals the brain that it’s time to eat. This stood out to me because I’m always hungry, mainly because I work from 7pm to 7am and I like to snack to help me stay awake. It was interesting reading about the hunger hormone and the impact it has on my appetite. To suppress hunger hormones we must get enough sleep, exercise regularly, use stress management, eat protein and follow a healthy diet. Hunger hormone levels can fluctuate based on diet, hydration, and sleep. I guess this is why I hear that of course dieting is an aid in your weight loss, but also getting enough sleep at night, and drinking plenty of water. SCIENCE HEALTH SCIENCE
