But many believe things are worse because bad news spreads quickly. One surprising fact is that violence has decreased. Many think the world is more dangerous, but history shows the opposite (Pinker, 2018). As a nurse, I see how medicine has helped people live longer, proving progress. Rosling et al. (2018) agree with Pinker, showing that health, education, and wealth have improved. However, Hickel (2019) argues that inequality is still a big problem. While challenges remain, data shows the world is improving.
