A new arbovirus called ‘yarravirus’ has just been found to be circulating in possums, kangaroos and echidnas in regional victoria, causing little to no symptoms. The virus has also been isolated from mosquitoes in the area. Extensive testing was carried out in individuals that live in the area, and it was found that this virus appears to also be present in humans causing only mild symptoms. Interestingly, all positive cases found in humans were only in those that spent significant amounts of time in wildlife inhabited areas near the bush. What arboviral transmission cycle is this virus likely undergoing, and what are your reasons for this choice? SCIENCE HEALTH SCIENCE NURSING PCPA 530
