Acute Complications of Diabetes Mellitus (DM) All three acute complications
Asthma Case Study Tabitha is a 13-year-old girl who is enrolled in year 7 at her local high school. She was diagnosed with asthma at age 4 and has been able to control her symptoms throughout primary school using preventive medication and regular exercise. Stress is one of the factors that triggers an asthma attack for Tabitha and she is finding the transition to high school, with its unfamiliar routine and the pressure that she feels to keep up with her homework, to be very stressful indeed. She is not making friends as freely as she had hoped to and the frequency of her asthma attacks is increasing and the severity is worsening. Tabitha feels embarrassed that, having managed her asthma so well for so long, she is now unable to do so. She doesn’t want to tell her mother about her asthma attacks because she is worried that her mother will blame her for not taking her preventive medication properly. She feels alone because she does not want to tell her friends about her asthma because she is frightened of being picked on, especially by other students who she doesn’t know that well. . 2. a) If you choose a child or adolescent from your own experience, provide a written summary of the person’s background without using any names or other identifying information.
