I have come across a pt who

I have come across a pt who is 31 years old, with high blood pressure and anxiety (school related). She has a previous medical history of hypertension and was taking Nifedipine 60mg for 1.5 years, then stopped due to her BP returning to normal. However, when she did stop, she gained a significant amount of weight. She has been off and on this med for 1.5 years and has stopped it twice since and again has gained weight. MD does not think weight gain should happen (was informed after first time, pt kept it to herself starting and stopping this med since). She has not taken it in over two months now. She is otherwise a healthy and active individual, but has a family history of heart disease on paternal side and hypertension and preeclampsia on maternal side. i have the nursing diagnosis of anxiety, as she presented to assessment for that reason. I was just wondering what other nursing interventions I could offer for her hypertension (possibly elaborating on trying another calcium channel blocker and following up with md?).
