I NEED A REPLY TO THIS COMMENT HOW WOULD YOU RESPOND TO THE BELOW POST? There are strengths and weaknesses to all the different research styles. Quasi-experimental research is a great way to complete research in a causal and less controlled environment (Gray & Grove, 2021, p. 33). Its weakness is that the participants cannot be forced to participate in the interventions of the study. The research style is used mainly in nursing research to determine the impact of interventions in a patient’s life that can be implemented by a nurse (Gray & Grove, 2021, p. 33). The participants in the study are picked out of ease instead of randomly like other research styles (Gray & Grove, 2021, p. 33). When participants are picked out of ease, the number of participants may be very small and not fully provide concrete evidence to support the hypothesis. The number of participants in the research study article was quite small, with only seventeen participants out of the twenty-seven enrolled (Zaccari et al., 2020). Not all of the participants joined in the same amount of yoga classes, which could skew the results either in a positive or negative way. If all the research participants completed all ten yoga classes a week, the results would have been more concrete. Another factor that could affect the results is the cortisol lab collection. In the study, the labs were to be collected at certain times and stored in a particular manner. It is unknown if the labs were completed in the way directed since it was completed by participants instead of the people completing the study. According to the tests used, the cortisol level stays pretty stable even when not refrigerated; however, the times of collection could vary drastically effecting the results (Zaccari et al., 2020). The possibility of variations allows for skepticism or probabilities for inconsistency. There are ways that the sampling process could have been improved within the research study. First, having dedicated, scheduled times for collection of the cortisol lab instead of upon a generalized timeframe of waking and prior to going to bed. People wake and sleep at various times and the amount of sleep and time variations could impact the cortisol results. There are also other elements that could change cortisol levels, to include: medications, injury, disease, being overweight, and amount of sleep (Cortisol Test, 2022). If these elements are not considered, the results will not be as precise to prove or disprove the hypothesis. Upgrading the sampling process will improve the strength of the results to the research study. SCIENCE HEALTH SCIENCE NURSING NURS 3151
