Please improve this information. Reason for Course Approval: I am currently pursuing a Master of Public Health degree and a certification in Epidemiology. My reason for Public Health Nutrition Certification addition to my academic record is that i have already completed the required courses PBHL 6500 Research Methods in Public Health and am currently enrolled in NUTR 5585 Complementary Nutrition Therapies. Therefore, I only need to complete three more courses totalling 9 credit hours. The remaining courses to complete are as follows: NUTR5561 Material and Child Nutrition, NUTR 5581 Obesity Prevention and Management and NUTR5583 Science and Sports Nutrition. I took this NUTR 5585 course because this was my last elective I needed for my MPH program/Epidemiology. I am really interested in pursuing this certification alongside my Epidemiology certification which I have such deep passion in. Upon taking this course, it brough back great memories regarding my background as a Health COach over 17 years. I love that this certification combined with the MPH degree and epidemiolgiy certification would allow me to conduct research public health issues, including the relationship between diet, nutrition, and disease.
