The Affordable Care Act enacted and put into law in 2010 are a bill of rights that relate to insurance coverage that also include ethical and legal issues that are encountered in today’s health care industry. Section 1557 of the Affordable Care ACT states, “prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability in any health program or activity that receives Federal financial assistance, State-based health insurance Exchanges, and HHS health programs and activities, and is one of the government’s most powerful tools to ensure nondiscriminatory access to health care” (). This rule was finalized in April 202 following Bosto V. Clayton County that covered concerns about the nondiscrimination act not including sexual orientation that directly affect the LGBTQ community. The act was reviewed to incorporate the LGBTQ and underserved communities such as pregnant women, non-English speakers, those born outside America, and disabled. Include your opinion on how they relate to ethical and legal aspects of today’s health care industry?
