Mr. Brian Jobe is a 70 year
Mr. Brian Jobe is a 70 year old man that has come to you after being discharged from the hospital following management for acute asthmatic attack. He has been or corticosteroids for over twenty years on and off for his asthma. He tells you that recently he has seen some changes in his vision that is cause for some concern. He found that he was sometimes having a dark spot at the centre of viewing and that reading was becoming difficult. He was also having trouble adjusting to dark rooms, difficulty focusing on near or distant objects and finds himself blinking or squinting due to unusual sensitivity to light or glare. He said he spoke to the doctor at the hospital who told him that it was nothing to worry about. I think this is similar to a care plan. Even though the patient has asthma he is not at the doctor for that. He is at the doctor for his vision/eye. So, the nursing diagnosis should be about the patient’s vision, you can talk about his asthma and medication but the focus is on his eyesight. I have 4 nursing diagnosis can you do the Planning, Rationale and Evaluation for each? (I will do the interventions) Disturbed Sensory Perception Risk for Injury Anxiety Knowledge Deficient
