His family history was strongly positive for type 2 diabetes. His medications included lisinopril and hydrochlorothiazide. Laboratory testing: a fasting blood sample revealed a grossly lipemic serum (see below), with a total cholesterol level of 536 mg/dL total triglyceride level of 5927 mg/dL and high density cholesterol (HDL-C) level of 23.4 mg/dL. He also mentions some weird lesions on his eyelids. What is your plan for him? What is he at risk for developing? Are the eyelid lesions worriesome?
