Reply to these two discussions 1- Henrys primary healthcare provider should consider making the app easy to navigate through. Considering Henrys age, technology has changed dramatically throughout the last few years. Another thing the primary healthcare provider should consider is how Henry can gain knowledge on how to use the app, make sure his notifications are on, input information on the app, etc. With Henry Brown having depression that should also be put in consideration because from my understanding individuals diagnosed with depression can self-isolate, cut off communications with others when feeling down, what is Henry copes that way and one of his coping mechanisms is shutting off his phone to not here from others Features that are most important to facilitate the primary treatment goals of Henry and his primary provider should be organization. Henry is diagnosed with a few things and is on medication for each diagnosis, his medication list should be divided into categories on what hes taking and why hes taking it. It should include how many times a day, dosage, and timing of when to take what. Another feature this app should include is education. Educating Henry on his illnesses, and how to manage them outside of just his medications. For example, he is diagnosed with hypertension. Maybe include some practices on how to reduce his hypertension with lifestyle choices.Henry should communicate his activities with this app by signing or checking off when something is complete. It should be as simple as possible to increase the chances of the app being used. Having Henry lot or go through a hassle to communicate his activities will most likely increase frustration and it being incomplete. Some risks for Henry associated with using the app is losing his mobile device. Another risk associated with using the app could be errors being put in due to not using the app properly. 2-Some things that Henry’s provider should consider when selecting an app for him may be; that he lives in a rural area, his age, how often he uses his phone, and his willingness to learn. If henry does not care to learn the new application, then it would be pointless to use. If Henry does not use his phone often then that could be a huge factor on if this application will be effective. The use of an application to track Henry’s medications could be beneficial to him. The goal of this treatment would be “…to deliver automated, personalized messaging to remind Henry to take his medication; can help Henry reinforce good self-management behaviors; can provide education on his chronic diseases; and can provide information about his medications, such as black box warnings, side effects, and contraindications for use” (Nelson, p.270).Henry should let the provider know how well the app is working for him. He should tell the provider if it is easy to use and if he is remembering to use it. This will allow the provider to adjust the care plan as needed.Henry’s healthcare provider should consider some risk factors when it comes to deciding on an application for him. Some risk factors for Henry include his age, memory, sight, and taking multiple medications and how that effects selecting an application for him. His age should be considered because many older people have trouble working and understanding technology. Also, his memory is a big part of this concern. If Henry has trouble remembering when to take his medications, is he going to remember to check his app? His ability to see might be a concern because if he cant see his phone and what it says, the application again will be useless. Lastly, with Henry taking multiple medications, he might overdoes or underdose himself if he does not understand the app correctly. SCIENCE HEALTH SCIENCE NURSING MDA 2410
