What stood out to me specifically about Provision 7 was that they mentioned “Nurses engage in scholarly inquiry in order to expand the body of knowledge that forms and advances the theory and practice and discipline in all its spheres” I have learned that the medical field is always growing and changing daily, we receive new equipment, and new methods of performing and completing tasks effectively. The advancements made in technology, and the care we provide are always changing. We must keep up with all of the new research and findings and doing so enables us to provide the best care possible to our patients. Committing to research also allows us to gain knowledge and understanding of things we may not know in the medical field. As a future nurse, I am committing myself to lifelong learning so that I am knowledgeable in all the tasks I am faced with daily. Developing these research habits while in nursing school will make for an easy transition to maintain this habit throughout my career, and be able to teach others of my findings and understandings.
