Some managers attempt to have an “Open Door” policy. Yet, it can be difficult to have an “open door” policy when you have a large amount of direct reports. It can be hard to prioritize your time and your tasks with this type of management. When we are being managers, we are also leaders and we desire to make changes to improve patient outcomes and the work environment of our employees. When we look at different leadership styles, we often see how the transformational leader focuses on relationships within a group to make change.
