She is acknowledged as an Elder in her community and prefers to be called Aunty Alinta. She is 61 years old, and her partner died five years ago. She has one daughter Rosie, who lives in Melbourne. She is an active member of the Wagga Aboriginal Women’s Group. Aunty Alinta lives by herself, drives her own car, and values her independence. · In Week Two: We are introduced to Aunty Alinta as she visits her local health service to receive Ngangkari Services from an Aboriginal Healer and her fourth COVID-19 vaccination. We learn Aunty Alinta has a history of asthma, osteoporosis, and lung cancer. · In Week Three: Aunty Alinta undergoes cognitive testing during a routine health check-up. · In Week Four: Aunty Alinta has a fall and sustains an oblique fracture to her right ulna and is admitted to hospital for open reduction, and plate and screw fixation. She develops hospital acquired pneumonia and experiences an episode of hypoactive delirium. · In Week Five: As Aunty Alinta has a fibre glass cast to her right forearm, she is assessed by a physiotherapist and occupational therapist during her hospital admission and is visited by an Aboriginal Healer for Ngangkari Services. · In Week Six: We learn that Aunty Alinta is ready for discharge home. She had her care needs re-assessed by the Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) team and is approved for a Short-Term Restorative Care Programme (STRC).
