SL is a 35 year old male admitted to the emergency department today with severe abdominal pain, liquid stools 7 to 10 times daily, and blood in his stool. He has an 8 year history of Chron’s disease. Her symptoms have worsened over the last week. She had taken Prednisone for several months and was weaned off of the medication 3 months ago. Bowel Sounds are hyperactive in all quadrants. Abdomen is firm, distended, and tender over the right lower quadrant. 

Vital signs are as follows:

T: 100.8

P: 94

RR: 24- unlabored

O2 saturation: 94%
