I wrote the below abstract but my professor states I need to better specify the focus and stakeholders for a cost-benefit analysis and explain why the stakeholders would be interested in the outcome of the analysis. I did not do that correctly. How would I incorporate the competency into my writing? Who are the stake holders and why would they be interested in the outcome of the analysis of patients falling?
Abstract
During New York-Presbyterian Hospital’s stay, patients are at a higher risk of falling due to inadequate safety measures. A new program will allow a more effective way to provide excellent care while reducing the danger of patients falling. In addition to the patients, the CEO, CVP, doctors, and employees all play a role in creating a difference. Patients and caregivers are being educated on new practices, and new equipment is being installed to help patients avoid falls. While reducing the number of falls, a cost-benefit analysis was carried out. A primary objective of New York-Presbyterian Hospital is to deliver the highest degree of patient safety and quality treatment possible as part of its mission, vision, and goals. As a result of this, patients of all ages, but particularly the elderly, receive excellent care. This is in accordance with the quality of care provided to patients at other hospitals. The New York-Presbyterian Hospital will be able to keep a constant level of preventive safety improvements and high-quality care for its patients by holding staff meetings every month. These meetings will be based on data from the hospital system. An external benchmark is the placement of bed monitor alarms in high-risk patients’ beds at NYP hospitals. Before and after procedures, or when they can’t be physically there with the patient. Regardless of New York-Presbyterian Hospital’s stated aims, patient safety will always come first. Restructuring the hospital will be easier with the use of new tools including benchmarks, seminars for staff and patients, and analytic dashboards. Hospital fall cases are said to total more than 3 million (CDC, 2016). Approximately $85.4 billion in annual income is lost due to patient falls. NYP Hospital’s continued responsibility to deliver the finest treatment is exemplified by its efforts to better handle hospital falls and take preventative measures. We wrote this paper to figure out whether or not implementing new tactics and investing in new safety equipment is worth the money and effort.
