Additionally, the code of ethics as identified by the ANA include four main principles: justice, autonomy, beneficence, and nonmaleficence. This policy represents these principles by treating the patient fairly, giving the patient the right to make their own choices in care, doing what is right for the patient, and doing no harm to the patient (American Nurses Association, 2022).
