CHCAGE005- Working with clients with Dementia 

 

Instructions:  

The student must perform the following tasks in an ageing support care/ disability support care setting.  o The student must demonstrate evidence to manage different tasks and possible contingencies (especially in the situations relating to emergency or unplanned procedures where assessment in these circumstances would be unsafe, impractical or threatens the dignity of the older person) in the context of their job role.
The student is required to have real interactions with the client and their carers/families 
The student must have access to individualised plans and other relevant resources, equipment and facilities mentioned on the individualised plans to complete this work placement task.
A student may use the example of the similar client to perform different activities.

 

 

                 

 

                                                          Provide an example of a client where the student:           

1.a. Identified, recognised, managed contingencies (especially in the situations relating to emergency or unplanned procedures where assessment in these circumstances would be unsafe, impractical or threatens the dignity of the older person) in the context of their job role.   

1.b. Identified the support needs of the individual. 

1.c. Recognised signs related to financial, physical, emotional abuse or neglect of the person.   

1.d. Applied person-centred care approaches in their interaction with the client.
