Charlotte Lewis is a 44-year-old African American female with a history of paranoid schizophrenia. She was brought to the emergency room, by her caseworker, who had made a home visit and found the patient disheveled, sitting in a darkened room, agitated, and responding to auditory hallucinations. On Tuesday at 1100 she was admitted to the psychiatric unit with auditory command and persecutory hallucinations and fixed delusions. Charlotte has been busy the last few hours being admitted and has been relatively calm with the distraction of admission activity. She is currently sitting on the edge of the bed in her room on the psychiatric unit. She has the delusion that an evil demon named Raider lives in her brain and threatens her. Raider also tells her when others mean to harm her. She started having galactorrhea, a milky discharge from her nipples. Charlotte believes she recently gave birth and Raider’s followers took the infant from her. She believes these followers also sneak into her home at night when she is sleeping and steal her breast milk for the infant. The scenario takes place on Tuesday at 1300.
