Hi, I need help finding 10 articles related to my picot question. The articles must be 5 years or less.  According to the type of article (quantitative, qualitative, mixed methods, meta analysis, clinical practice), complete the appropriate section in the worksheet for each article.

Problem related to PICOT: This article assesses the effectiveness of the teach back method on patients.

 

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to assess if registered nurses understand the teach-back method and if they can translate this knowledge to patients when being discharged.  

 

Sample: 12 Registered Nurses completed all 3 phases. The participants were nurses from a medical/surgical unit that were currently practicing as RNs and had been nurses for at least 2 years

 

Data Collection Method: The data was collected and recorded from the participants themselves. The interview was a face-to-face conversational study wherein nurses were asked different questions about their knowledge regarding the teach-back method. 

 

Key Findings/Themes: The pre-intervention results showed that about 25% of the nurse population was familiar with the teach back method. The post intervention results not only showed that the knowledge about the teach back method increased among the participants, but they also identified other benefits to its implementation.

 

PICOT QUESTION:  In patients 45 years and younger, what is the effect of the teach back method in comparison to passive learning, on cases of DKA hospitalizations over the period of 3 months.
