It is approximately 10:30am on Tuesday, 24th March 2021 and you are involved in a workplace accident in your work area where you have cut your hand whilst assisting the Head Chef in the preparation of the salads for lunchtime and needed first-aid assistance, although the injury is not severe enough for you to go see a doctor or go to hospital. During the incident there was no contamination of either the food or the food preparation area. The incident happened because you were distracted and became careless.
You received the following first aid treatment:
Washing the wound,
Applying antiseptic cream, and
The application of a dressing (Band-aid)
In accordance with organisational procedures, you are required to report the details of the incident (Incident Report No. 081) in writing to your supervisor the Restaurant Manager (Mr John Smith).
